Small perfect, great fun staff, atmosphere is just crazy fun. The food is tasty and very authentic. Mixed drinks plus homemade food...you just can not lose...Actually was speaking to one of the staff while I waited and he said they have a great turnout but most of the rush comes from the concerts across the street... Theater Also they play great music, rock and classics, the place is adorned with music legends and stars that have visited. Definitely will visit again.
I will never go to another place for tacos and get the same quality that this place has. I’ve been coming to Taqueria La Picardia for years now and nothing compares to these tacos. The tacos are so juicy, the cilantro and onion are so delicious, and their sauces are immaculate. The women that work there are always so kind and happy! And the place itself is very cute. A lot of times I’ve been in to eat they play reggae music, which I enjoy listening to while I’m eating and talking with friends. There’s absolutely no place like this one, and I’d be eating there everyday if I could.
Another review said "overpriced"?!?! Crazy! The chicken enchiladas comes with rice & beans and is only 20!!! Big meal! Great prices! Signature cocktails are 14 each sure but, every place makes it's money on booze so, if you can't afford a drink, get a cheap beer at the market next door! Great people, great owner, great service! My favorite pre-show restaurant.
Best deal for a Capital pre-show meal. I recommend the shrimp gringo. Margaritas are excellent, and good prices all around.
Update3/27/25 9:00 phone call I just called tonight to make an order for a pickup. I don’t know if the women accidentally muted me or what, but I heard another lady in the background say “cortale, cortale”. Not sure how just seconds before that the women who picked up the phone was talking perfectly fine and so was I when placing the order and then she acts like she couldn’t hear me and the other women was in the background saying “cortale, cortale”. Not sure if this was some miscommunication or what, but it’s super unprofessional. 17377374827348/2937382848292 that’s how much I would rate this place if I could. The staff is absolutely wonderful The food is pretty damn good But overall the atmosphere and attention is the best. I’ve been to a few places here in Port Chester and the attention sucks among other things. But here at La taqueria the attention, food, service, and atmosphere is the best. My friend and i literally come every week, we don’t even come because of the food, but because the staff is so wonderful and kind. This is our new to go place till the day we turn like 95 years old.
We were in town for a show just up the road at The Cap and stopped by for a quick bite. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was fast! The walls are adorned with memorabilia from The Grateful Dead as well as other acts that played in town. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. If you’re in town be sure to stop by for a quality meal.
Amazing, flavorful, authentic food! If you know that a small menu produces the best food, this is the place! Sangria, guacamole and some tacos and enchiladas!! Perfect spot before a show!
